Program Mission Statement: The mission of Keya House is to assist individuals living with serious mental illness avert crisis and do away with the necessity for higher levels of care, while at the same time obtaining necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to maintain wellness and work towards recovery from mental illness.
Additional Information: The Keya House offers a comfortable, clean and furnished bedroom house in a quiet and safe neighborhood. It consists of peers helping peers with crisis prevention and diversion from psychiatric distress that may lead to hospitalization. The Keya House is strictly voluntary and free of charge. Guests self-refer or are referred by a professional or family member. There is a registration process to ensure whether the program is appropriate for each individual, as well as for the comfort of other guests. The Keya House offers a stay of up to five days. Peer companions staff the house 24 hours a day. Staff can maintain contact and support at your request, after you finish your stay.
