Program Mission Statement: Self-help centers are designed to empower mental health consumers realize a lifestyle centered on wellness. The self-help center offers an environment for learning and growth in a comfortable, relaxed, and supportive setting that is easily accessible to mental health consumers. The atmosphere and daily operations are operated through the efforts of the membership, leadership, and sponsoring agency. Self-help centers provide environments where a consumer can feel respected and accepted, and develop a support network. Self-help centers offer a place where consumers can relax and access resources and support that promote recovery and wellness. Consumers grow in the spirit of giving and gaining through mutual aid and support.
