Program Mission Statement: The West Virginia Leadership Academy is a nationally recognized training program to enable people to take more responsibility in community planning and improvement. The original goal was to provide consumers of mental health services and family members of consumers with skills needed to assume a position of strong leadership in advocating for improvements in mental health services and supports. The Academy also provides a graduate support system, offers opportunities to apply skills in home communities, and collects data related to impact graduates have had.
