Additional Information: DBSA utilizes a peer to peer approach. That means everyone in the room suffers from a mental illnessójust like you. We help ourselves by sharing our experiences and resources. DBSA Ventura is a caring group of peers who hold open, free voluntary meetings. We are not a substitute for therapy or treatment by a professional; a place to receive a diagnosis or a 12-step group. We invite our peers who suffer from depression and bipolar disorder (also called manic depression) to visit our support group meetings and participate in an open dialogue.
